Summary of SMARTS operation for 1H of 2007

SMARTS market share is growing. On July 1st 2007 the subscribers’ base has grown to 3 816 360 people, thus it’s increased by 15.9%. Despite the strong competition (MTS, Megafon, Vimpelcom) SMARTS increased its market share to 10.5% (by 0.4%).
Market share by the end of reporting period is 9.1%.
Main financial and analytical indications:

  1. Aggregated profit for 1H of 2007 is increased by 29,7 % in comparison with last year data and is now 3 684 914 rubles. Sales profit 627 912 rubles. Thus, overall the profit has increased by 15.4 times.
  2. The tendency to lower subscriber expenses was stable throughout the year. SAC for 1H 2007 is $11, 1 and in comparison with similar data for 2006 lowered by 11,8%.
  3.  Average monthly profit per a person (ARPU) in ZAO SMARTS is $4, 7. 

SMARTS was founded in 1991 in Samara. There are 9 branches within the company structure. They work in the following regions: Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Ivanovsk, Bashkortostan, Kalmikiya, Mary El, Tatar Stan and Mordoviya. Together with its branches SMARTS is operating in 16 regions of Russia, in Volga, South and Central Federal Regions.
